For Steelworks Schmees, Sustainability means to increase productivity and to strengthen the future potential. We are optimizing existing processes and using modern and innovative technologies efficiently. For us, sustainability is an essential basis, that improves the ecological, economical and social performance of the company. We at Steelworks Schmees are living this philosophy.<\/p>\n

The consideration of ecological and economical aspects, under the integration of most innovative ladle heating station and the latest porous burner, guarantees an optimal shape and design of the castings. To use resources and raw material efficiently, is the secret of contemporary manufactory<\/p>\n<\/div>

With a new burner technology, over 100,000 cubic metres of natural gas and thus over 160 tonnes of CO2 equivalents can be saved every year. At the Langenfeld plant, the measured savings currently amount to 61,400 m\u00b3 of natural gas (60% of the primary energy) and 114 tonnes of CO2.<\/p>\n

The reduction of harmful CO2 has long been a concern for Schmees. A concept in which climate protection, efficient use of resources and industrial modernisation go hand in hand clearly shows that everyone involved benefits from this interaction.<\/p>\n

We know that sustainability strengthens our company’s position on the market, and therefore that of our customers. At the same time, we make an important contribution to the protection and preservation of our environment.<\/p>\n<\/div>
